Sport

Corpus Christi has many opportunities for students to participate in sports and music outside school hours.

Soccer

The Hawks Soccer Club is run by parent volunteers from Corpus Christi and is open to children from within and outside the school. The club fields teams from the Under 6 to Under 12 age groups (subject to numbers). The club has enjoyed great success over the years and the children gain a great sense of fulfilment from playing with their friends and classmates while learning the value of teamwork and cooperation. Players are graded early each year. Teams play in the Ku-ring-gai and District Soccer Association competition on Saturday mornings throughout winter.

The Hawks Soccer Club also runs a Saturday morning Soccer Clinic which is open to players aged four and five and, if preferred, first-time players in the Under 6 age group. The objective of the clinic is to introduce boys and girls to basic soccer skills through coaching and competitive games. The clinic is also a valuable means for children who will commence school the following year to get to know some of their future classmates and familiarise themselves with the school surrounds. The clinic is held on the school soccer field each Saturday during the soccer season for one hour from 9:00am.

Netball

The Corpus Christi Netball Club is run by parent volunteers from the school and is open to all children from within and outside Corpus Christi. The children gain a strong sense of fulfilment from playing together as a team while benefiting from the physical exercise of netball. They learn skills and the important values associated with team sports.

The club has Netta (modified netball) teams for girls in the Under 7 to Under 10 age groups. Netta is designed to introduce players to the skills and rules of netball. Corpus Christi also runs a four-week school-based introductory Netta programme each November for young players considering joining the club the following year.

Netball teams are fielded in the older age groups. Corpus Christi plays in the Ku-Ring-Gai Netball Association competition which takes place on Saturday mornings at the Canoon Road courts in Turramurra or Lofberg Road in West Pymble. The season runs from April to September with breaks for school holidays. Registration for the netball club takes place in early February.

Swimming and Athletics

Corpus Christi participates fully in the Broken Bay Diocese swimming and athletics programmes, which enables our children to pursue representative sport progressively from school to cluster, to diocese level, and then on to state primary school level.

Other Sports

Parent-organised teams from Corpus Christi participate in a range of local sports competitions, including basketball, T-ball and softball.
