The Corpus Christi Parents & Friends Association is committed to supporting the school and parish in their mission.

As part of this commitment, the P&F has promoted a joint school and parish outreach programme to establish a permanent relationship under which Corpus Christi would provide support for the Free School attached to the Santhome (St Thomas) Cathedral Basilica in Chennai, India.

The Free School caters for around 1,000 children from very poor backgrounds who would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn and grow through education. Many of the children attending the school come from coastal areas that were severely affected by the December 2004 tsunami. In addition to pastoral care and education, the Free School provides the children with a midday meal, often their only substantial nourishment of the day. The P&F, Corpus Christi School and Corpus Christi Parish have launched a fundraising initiative to help provide ongoing support for the Free School.

The children of Corpus Christi are fully engaged in this initiative, which is incorporated into their Religious Education curriculum as a means of developing their awareness of different cultures and living conditions around the world, and of the importance of working to help others.
